Hello, I’m David.
I grew up in the southeast of England in the fine city of Norwich and graduated from Durham University in 2005 where I studied Software Engineering. Since then I’ve worked as a product manager in London, Beijing, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Kamakura, and presently Munich.
Randomwire was started in 2003 and focuses on life in Asia, culture, design, technology, and travel.

What’s in a name?
The Chinese characters in the logo (随线) literally means ‘random wire’ although originally it was adapted from a longer idiom (随线放矢 – Sui xian fang shi or 有的放矢 – You di fang shi) which means to speak or act with a well-defined objective in mind. A bit of an oxymoron perhaps!
